Free Water Conservation Kits: March 16-20

Scottsdale water customers can get a free conservation kit that tests for leaks and encourages ways to save one of our most precious resources – water. The kit is being provided by the city’s Water Conservation Division to help promote “Fix A Leak Week,” March 16-20.

The user’s kit comes with the Complete Guide To Home Water Management and various “conservation tools” for testing.  These tools include shower bags, drip cups, and toilet dye tabs.

Spring is a good time for homeowners to check their household plumbing fixtures and irrigation systems for leaks.  Water leaks can account for 11,000 gallons of water wasted each year in your home.  That’s enough to fill a backyard swimming pool.  Fixing these leaks can save Scottsdale homeowners more than 10 percent on their water bills and preserve water for future use. Scottsdale is a partner with the Environmental Protection Agency in promoting this first “Fix A Leak Week” to raise water-conscious awareness with communities and consumers nationwide.  For more information on Fix A Leak Week, visit www.epa.gov/watersense/fixaleak.  For more information about Scottsdale’s water conservation programs visit, http://www.scottsdaleaz.gov/water/conservation.
